The Challenge
Maracas Studio was building pre-launch momentum for Cat Mail Co. — a cozy simulation game about running a small-town cat post office. The Steam page was live but still sitting in the low hundreds of wishlists, and the genre spreads by being seen: cozy-sim fans are scattered across TikTok and Reels, hard to target with paid ads, and easy to miss entirely without the right creators.
The studio needed a fast, measurable wishlist push across the short-form platforms where cozy games actually travel — without hand-negotiating deals with creators one at a time.
The Approach
The campaign opened on Trapster at a $7 CPM — deliberately above the usual $5 — to win the strongest creators in the cozy-sim and casual-gaming niches. 16 creators self-enrolled and shipped 42 videos across Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, each one a 9:16 first-look pointed straight at the Steam page.
Reels carried the campaign: one breakout reel pulled 167,000 views on its own, and Instagram delivered the bulk of the 413,000 tracked views. Because views kept accruing after creator caps were hit, the effective CPM settled at $3.87 — and Maracas watched the wishlist counter more than double in real time from the dashboard.
