The Challenge
Mind Creations was building a wishlist base from zero for Anomaly Control Simulator — "Papers, Please in an SCP-inspired setting": you're an agent of a secret anomaly control bureau, examining dangerous artifacts, running experiments, and deciding their fate before the world descends into chaos. The Steam page was brand new, with essentially no wishlists and a few dozen followers.
The open question was whether a slow, decision-driven bureaucracy sim could hook short-form audiences at all — and whether that attention would convert into a real wishlist base rather than empty views.
The Approach
The game ran in two back-to-back waves on Trapster at a $5 CPM across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. 37 creators from the horror, simulation, and SCP-adjacent niches self-enrolled across the two waves and shipped 123 videos in total, many recorded once and cross-posted.
The artifact-examination loop and "one wrong call ends the world" tension gave creators an easy hook. Content pulled 33,900+ likes across the campaign, and because views kept accruing after creator caps were hit, the effective CPM settled at $2.48. Over the two waves the Steam page climbed from a standing start to 21,500 wishlists at roughly $0.18 each — tracked in real time from the dashboard.
